Campbell's work is inspired through years of travel and an empirical interest in anthropology. Central themes assimilate and erode through the passage of time as the work orbits issues of political, social, cultural and environmental significance. Moving from an era of technology evolution into one of technology revolution Campbell explores the potential impact that could have on our daily lives. In the LA@Manhattan Project (working title) Campbell uses elements of the creative process inherent within art as a method to examine the possible impact rapid technological change is having on individuals and societies. Rather than a finished object to be hung on a wall or placed in a museum archive the process gives participants in the project express permission to generate conversation, questions and ideas. To contextualize the future and empower themselves during tumultuous change as technology outpaces existing social, economic and political frameworks.
