
Since 1997, Richard Masters has exhibited his artwork in highly competitive venues throughout the United States, a record that includes numerous solo, group, and invitational shows in addition to over fifty national and international juried
exhibitions. His work is often critically recognized, honors that include nine best of show awards.
In the field of design, the artist is credited with 37 American coin and medal designs in his work with the United States Mint and is currently working with the United Kingdom’s Royal Mint in a similar capacity.
Mr. Masters is a professor emeritus of art at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, where he taught graphic design and illustration for 19 years. During his tenure, he restructured his area’s undergraduate curriculum and coordinated its highly successful internship program. He also was the recipient of seven research grants from his university’s faculty development program.
Mr. Masters studied design and drawing at the University of Iowa, graduating with an MFA degree in 1990. Born in Sioux City, Iowa, the artist and his spouse, MeeWha Alana Lee, moved to New York City in 2015 to pursue independent careers in the fine and performing arts.
