Ho Bin Kim is a novelist and multidisciplinary artist whose practice explores migration, diaspora, displacement, and belonging through relational forms of video, performance, installation, and digital media.
Ho Bin Kim’s practice explores migration, diaspora, displacement, and belonging through relational encounters shaped by media and institutional systems. Working across video, performance, installation, literature, and digital media, he approaches each medium as an extension of narrative inquiry. His work is particularly interested in how people carry memory across borders and how personal histories become entangled with larger systems of movement, labor, and cultural production. Rather than treating people or places as subjects to be documented, Kim develops situations in which meaning emerges through collaboration, improvisation, and presence. His ongoing project Reality Sandwich exemplifies this approach, using performative encounters, food, storytelling, and place to construct alternative archives of lived experience and connection.
Ho Bin Kim (b. 1996) is a novelist and multidisciplinary artist working across video, performance, installation, and digital media. His work has been presented internationally, including at the 15th Gwangju Biennale German Pavilion, 2nd Seoul Art & Tech Festival, 7th Bangkok Experimental Film Festival, 22nd Jecheon International Music and Film Festival, and 24th Forum Film Dokumenter. He has participated in international residencies including the UNESCO Media Art Residency and Swatch Art Peace Hotel Residency in Shanghai, as well as residencies in Europe, Asia, and the United States. Kim is currently developing Reality Sandwich, an ongoing place-responsive video project exploring encounters between artists, communities, and environments across different geographies.
