Wry, whimsical, and delightfully dark, her narratives capture the eccentric absurdities of modern life.
Inspired by daily life, Huang captures the awkward and theatrical absurdities of contemporary society through unpretentious lines and humorous compositions. Her whimsical narratives blend child-like innocence with a dark, singular humor, offering a satirical yet palatable mirror to modern anxiety. Highlighting the lightness of a detached generation, she reveals the inherent humor, tragedy, grandeur, and frailty of human existence.
Drawing on the deep feeling of Audre Lorde’s “Uses of the Erotic: The Erotic as Power,” my work explores collaboration, congregation, and conviviality within our entanglement with the natural world. Through these encounters, I imagine reconciliation as an embodied, collective practice.
