NATHAN BRAD HALL
Whether trapped in longing, memory, or the weight of the future, my paintings aspire to offer subtle glimpses into the intensity and calm that ultimately makes us human. Through figurative and abstract work, I explore the need to connect, both intimately and voyeuristically, while acknowledging that the internal struggles we face often keep us from what we most desire.
Using large size wood panels and working in oil paints (taking advantage of both the direct and indirect painting methods) the single subjects and often boldly colored compositions strive to encourage the audience to look closer, while simultaneously remaining illusive.
Nathan has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Studio Arts with an emphasis in Painting & Drawing from the University of Colorado. He is an award winning independent filmmaker, and a successful interactive and print designer. He lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.
