The NARS Foundation Exhibition Program presents compelling and innovative work being produced on a local, national, and international level by under-represented artists today. The Gallery is located in an industrial building amongst our residency studios and our partner J&M Studios, which allows for the unique opportunity to present and experience contemporary artwork within a work-space environment. The presence of artists’ studios also allows for further dialogue and exchange between artists and curators.
In June 2017, we added a new gallery space on the second floor of our building. The NARS project space has been home to our Spotlight series, and will continue to host solo and small group exhibitions in conjunction with the programming in our main gallery.
From 2012-2017, we held an annual open call for a Juried Solo Exhibition and Emerging Curator Exhibition. These two shows provided a platform for emerging and underrepresented artists and curators to present innovative and compelling artwork and create a forum for exchanging ideas. NARS will no longer be accepting applications for its Juried Solo Exhibition and Emerging Curator Open Calls as these programs evolve into a new direction for the organization’s review and reflection of artistic and curatorial developments in its exhibition and public programming.
