2014 Season II

Artist Statement

Carly Snoswell is an emerging South Australian artist who works within the medium of sculpture and installation. Her practice explores the functional and visual qualities of common, mass-produced items. Rules and limitations are then imbedded within a process that shifts their energy, creating engaging installations. In 2012 she graduated with First Class Honours at the South Australian School of Art, Architecture and Design specialising in sculpture and installation. She has been exhibiting widely since 2010, including internationally, and was awarded the SA Life Emerging Artist award at the 2011 SALA Festival. In November 2013 she participated in the Helpmann Academy's Sanskriti Kendra residency in India and is currently undertaking a three-month studio residency at the NARS Foundation in New York.
