October 1 - October 23, 2012
Opening Reception: October 6, 6-8pm

The New York Art Residency & Studios Foundation is delighted to present Convergences, an annual fall exhibition which reflects the interdisciplinary nature of the NARS artist community. This exhibition is a celebratory showcase of a diverse group of artworks as much as it is an exploration into the conversations which develop between them when they inhabit a common space.

Featuring 35 studio artists who embrace materials from screen to canvas and pedestal to paper, the exhibition highlights those moments where divergent creative approaches intersect and intertwine. Through harmonious points of contact, these works find balance in the sway between viscera and intellect, tradition and the profoundly new, the conceptual and the concrete. As the gaps between these visual narratives grow closer, Convergences ultimately presents an opportunity to communicate with one another at a middle ground.
