Artist Biography

Jacqueline Hoang Nguyen is a research-based artist using a broad range of mediums including sound, video, printmaking and photography. She holds a MFA and diploma in Critical Studies from the Malmö Art Academy in Sweden (2003-2005), and a BFA in Studio Arts with distinction from Concordia University in Canada. Amongst selected exhibitions, Nguyen's work was shown at the ICA: Institute for Contemporary Art (Philadelphia, 2012); the Mason Gross Galleries (New Jersey, 2011); Gasworks (London, 2010); Pictura Gallery/Skånska Konstmuseum (Lund, 2009) with an upcoming a solo exhibition at VOX, Centre de la photographie contemporaine (Montreal, 2012). She has the distinction for being awarded the BRIC Media Fellowship from the BRIC Arts|Media|Bklyn (2011) in addition to a number of distinguished grants such as the one-year work grant by The Swedish Arts Grants Committee (2010), travel grants from the Canada Council for the Arts (2011 and 2010); and the prestigious Swedish Research and Development Fellowship in the Arts (2007).
