Hey Neighbor is a series of one-on-one conversations between artists-in-residence on Governors Island live-streamed from the tranquil porches of Nolan Park. A partnership project of Harvestworks, NARS Foundation, 4-heads and BEAM Center supported by the Trust for Governors Island.
Taking place over five weeks, Hey Neighbor brings together artists who work in close proximity but might never bump into one another. For one, because of the nature of individual practices, and two, out of respect to social distance. Artists are invited to discuss ideas and feelings that have surfaced while creating artwork in the midst of monumental turbulence. For some artists, it's the first time they will meet one another. For others, it's an opportunity to reconvene and check in. Their dialog is unscripted and emergent.
